You will need a cast-iron pan for this recipe.
1 tablespoon of garlic powder
1/2 tablespoon of salt
1/2 tablespoon of ground pepper
Pre-heat your oven to 450 degrees, and place cast-iron pan in the higher rack in the oven. Pre-heat oven for 40 minutes to reach optimal temperature. While your oven is pre-heating, sprinkle the salt, pepper, and garlic powder all over the chicken. Make sure to cover all parts. After 40 minutes have passed, place your chicken directly in the cast-iron pan. Cook for 40 minutes at 450, then turn off the oven and continue cooking chicken for an additional 40 minutes. (80 minutes total.) This will allow the chicken to create its own gravy and become very moist.
Remove from oven and serve!
